Arizona CPE Requirements:

Registration is every two years ending on the month of your birth, or the month in which your firm was established. Individuals register in the odd or even year of their birth. All CPAs must complete at least 80 hours of CPE by their renewal date.

Special Requirements/Limitations:

A minimum of 40 of the 80 hours must be technical and 16 of the 80 hours must be in the subject area of accounting, auditing, or taxation. In addition, a minimum of 16 hours must be in either live, classroom or interactive webinar format.

A maximum of 20 hours in introductory computer classes is allowed.

Every registrant must submit four hours of CPE in ethics during their two-year period immediately preceding their registration renewal. The four-hour requirement can be met by taking our Arizona Ethics course. Follow the ethics link on our homepage to access the course.

Do AEG courses qualify for credit in Arizona?

Yes. Arizona does not endorse or pre-approve CPE courses. They will accept courses from members of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) Registry and QAS sponsor approval programs. As members of both programs, our courses are accepted for credit in Arizona.

How are our recommended CPE hours determined?

As a member of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) Registry and QAS sponsor approval programs, we are required to conform to the measurement standards contained in the Statement on Standards of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs developed jointly by NASBA and the AICPA. Under these Standards our credits are based upon 1 CPE credit for every 50-minutes of study time, as determined by the average test results of CPAs pre-testing the material prior to publication.
